SIOUX FALLS – The Minnehaha County Democratic Party (MCDP) today announced unprecedented growth in its outreach and fundraising efforts, starkly contrasting with the Minnehaha County Republican party (MCGOP)’s apparent digital stagnation and nonexistent finances – even while the MCGOP’s gubernatorial primary race heats up.

“While the Minnehaha County Republicans are content with hiding in their echo chambers, Minnehaha Democrats are shattering their highest goals, reaching South Dakotans with a message of progress and accountability,” said MCDP Communications Chair Addison Miller. 

“Our digital surge isn’t just about numbers: it’s about connecting with people who are tired of playing nice and acting like both sides are the same – because they’re not. People are realizing it in the aftermath of the Noem Administration and in the wake of the Trump Administration – and they’re showing up to join us in droves.”

Soaring Reach: MCDP's digital reach has grown by more than 2000% on every platform, with some platforms witnessing an astonishing 4000% increase in engagement compared with just January 1 of this year. This organic surge reflects a groundswell of support and a hunger for Democratic values in Minnehaha County.

Viral Impact: The MCDP's recent TikTok post, bravely highlighting the appalling brutality within John Thune's Senate as it zip-tied the hands of disabled individuals protesting vital Medicaid cuts, has resonated deeply across the nation. 

This single post has reached more than 450,000 people – an incredible feat that surpasses half the entire population of South Dakota. While Senator Thune and his Republican allies attempt to silence dissent, the Minnehaha Democrats are amplifying the voices of the vulnerable.
