FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Minnehaha Democrats Statement Honoring Pride Month

SIOUX FALLS – June is Pride Month. We know this June feels scarier than it has in a long time.

As such, it is an abject moral failure of any individuals and organizations who choose not to speak out in support of the LGBTQ+ and two-spirit community at such a critical time.

The Minnehaha County Democratic Party will not make that mistake.

Regardless of who is in the White House, the Governor’s Mansion, or the Mayor’s office – we have the LGBTQ+ and two-spirit community’s back.

We will always stand in support of your right to love whomever you love, to be who you want to be and to express yourself however you choose.

We are not here to post rainbows in June and forget in July – because trans kids, along with the entire community, deal with attacks from January through December.

You can count on us to have your back.

No matter how long it takes.
